Callisto Champions Training

Our goal is to create informed advocates for Callisto throughout our region. In this call, our DDN SW Survivor Support Team -- Nikita, Sachika, and Smrithi -- will break down the various aspects to promoting a resource like Callisto, including:

  • What Callisto's services are & how they can be used to support survivors in different situations

  • Learn what services have been added or changed since last year

  • What is defined as sexual assault both in the law, and to Callisto

  • Understand green flags of healthy relationships & how to reach out to a friend who you are worried is in an unhealthy relationship

  • Practice how to explain Callisto to someone else in need

CW: As a reminder, Callisto is a resource for survivors of sexual assault. Therefore, this call will be discussing sexual assault in depth. Addressing sexual assault requires talking about sexual assault & available resources; this may be uncomfortable, but it is necessary. Please identify team members who are willing and able to take on the responsibility of participating in this training and building these skills for responding to survivors.

Length: 90 minutes
Attendee Requirement: Competition boards are required to send 4 board members to this training. These board members cannot be safety & wellness ambassadors & cannot have attended before in the past. Teams are not required to send a specific amount of people, but attendance counts as an EO.

Anyone who attends & meets participation expectations will get EO credit for this call.

Education Opportunities

A critical component of our Safety & Wellness Framework is education: We want to dedicate some time to equip ourselves with knowledge & skills for staying safe & healthy that we may not have been given before.

Teams are required to have all members of their roster complete 1 EO as part of their curriculum. This EO must be completed 2 weeks before your 2nd competition.

To learn more about what constitutes an education opportunity, check out the document linked below.
